Wireless Wonders
If you're wondering
how we get the data for the graphs, this
is the place to find out! We use brand-new
wireless "mote" technology. Motes
are like tiny computers. Our team has designed
sensors to make mini weather stations to
keep an eye on conditions inside the glasshouses
at the Botanic Gardens.
Each mote is about
the size of a pack of playing cards and
has 3 main parts: the sensor board, the
radio transmitter/antenna and the battery
supply.
