Overcoming Obstacles

There are often many challenges to be faced during research and development of new technology. Our researchers have worked very hard to make the motes and sensors in the Botanic Gardens work reliably. Here's an example of just one of the problems our team was able to solve. The metal frames of the glasshouses can interfere with the signals transmitted by the motes. We had to do lots of trials in different glasshouses to find suitable locations for the motes where we would get a strong, clear signal.
